The Emmitsburg News-Journal is deeply grateful for the generous financial contributions made to date by members of the community, which have enabled the Emmitsburg News-Journal to provide a balanced and in-depth coverage of the News, History, Culture, and Events of the greater Emmitsburg community. While the classical newspaper business model calls for a paper to be supported by its advertisers and subscribers, truth be told, there just isn't the advertising base in Emmitsburg to support a good community paper, and the cost of setting up an accounting system to track subscribers is cost prohibitive. Our distribution areas are: the Historic Toms Creek Hundred Geographical Area, Emmitsburg, Fairfield, Rocky Ridge, Southern Adams County, Detour, Harney, Zora, Sabillasville, Carroll Valley, and St. Anthony's.
